Unarmed Professional Certification

The full state curriculum for first-time officers seeking their unarmed security certification in Oregon.

Course Coverage:

Defensive training — techniques against attackers
Space management & body control
Managing panic responses
Verbal judo — body language and de-escalation strategies
DPSST-aligned legal and ethical instruction

Renewal training for currently certified officers needing to maintain their DPSST status.

Recertification Requirements:

$75 renewal fee
Currently certified officer status
Valid photo identification
Pre-scheduled session at our Salem location

Minimum Age 18

You must be 18 years of age or older to register.

High School Diploma or GED

Documented completion of high school or an equivalent GED.

No Disqualifying Record

No criminal record per the DPSST disqualification list.

Valid Photo ID

Government-issued photo identification required for registration.
